Email management skills are a necessity for successful home based internet businesses. I'm stating the obvious you say. Maybe. Maybe not. I do know that I had to change the way I thought about my email preferences settings when I started my home based internet business. Deciding which ones to allow through and which ones to actually take the time to read is more subjective than you might think. How do you find legitimate opportunities without weeding through tons of spam? Is there a system?

Email Marketing

There is no online business that doesn't employ some sort of email campaign. If you want to become a successful home based internet business owner, you must use email marketing, period. Email marketing is one of the first tools that you can use to drive visitors to your site. Every effective email campaign uses autoresponders to keep the ball rolling. The point is this: There are legitimate opportunities being sent to thousands of individuals' inboxes everyday. The sad news is the majority get deleted without a second thought. Yet individuals still yearn to be self-employed, working from home, enjoying life more and feeling a greater sense of accomplishment.

Get Off The Bench

If you want to begin to gather information about becoming a home based internet business owner there's more information available to you than ever before. It's FREE. Don't believe me? You must have your head in the sand. All it takes to get to know how it's done is your time. You decide if you want to participate. You decide when you want to participate. But you must decide and good decisions are always made from a solid knowledge base. If you don't know about something, you learn about it. Get off of the bench, get in the game and play.

Find A Niche

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I first started this business was getting too much information from too many different sources. My business started to grow when I quit going after the latest deal and actually spent some time implementing a program of my own. Again, it takes time to build a business. Search the internet for home based internet business, see what's out there. Find a program that you'd like to try and begin by receiving their free newsletter. I see more good ideas for free ten to one over ones I pay for.

Start Now

The longer you wait, the longer it will take for you to reach your goals. Whether you are interested in making an extra few bucks each month or making a real living from home, nothing happens until you get your feet wet. I played baseball in college and for a short time in the minor leagues and we had a saying around the batting cage, "Nothing happens 'til you swing." Get the bat off of your shoulder, pick a pitch you like and swing away. Nothing happens until you do.

Ways To Profit From Articles

Being an affiliate is a hard enough job at the best of times, but have you ever tried to get your article published in a large ezine publication? It can be a nightmare sometimes. It's even harder if you try and work your affiliate link into the article.

Articles are a great way to get free exposure for your web site and your affiliate program. Hopefully your web sites goal will be to get Opt-In email addresses and you have some sort of free report system working.

However, I have been testing an idea for quite awhile now that I think really works and I guarantee you that you will get your article published 100% more than you do now. This works especially well if you're running an Opt-In mailing list which I recommend you do.

Ezine publishers receive hundreds of articles for publishing a week, so why should they publish yours? You might think you have the best article ever written, and you might, but ezine publishers have to make money too you know. My idea not only will increase your chances of getting published but you will also be helping ezine publishers make more money, which in the long run they will remember and will be more receptive to your articles in the future.

Here's the idea.

When you write your article, try and work an affiliate link into it. Make sure it's in context and not just a blatant advertisement as that's why most ezine publishers refuse to publish affiliate members articles.

As I was saying, write your article and in that article put a link to an affiliate program you're promoting in context in your article. It helps when doing this that you can say that you honestly use that product or service. I guarantee you a personal endorsement in your article will double the sales you would get with out an endorsement.

The twist here is that the affiliate link you put in will be changed by the ezine publisher. You will be letting the ezine publisher change your affiliate link in your article so they can earn commissions from your article and therefore increasing the chances of getting your article published. This has never failed for me and I'm sure it won't fail for you.

So how do you make money from this? Well if you have your own autoresponder free report series set up, you can use that in your article by-line. You would make more sales from this than from commissions from the article. Your goal in any affiliate exercise is to get as many Opt-In email addresses as possible and as cheaply and quickly as possible.

Make sure your article by-line is something that catches the readers attention. Heres a by-line I used when promoting an article on Mini Sites. You can see I use a tracker to show how many people click on my link.

This is the most effective way to use your article. Going for the one off sale is ridiculous and risky to your online business.

Google Adsense Page Positioning

Correct positioning of your Google adsense ads can make or break your success with the Google adsense program. Why is this true? Some studies suggest that eye positioning on website gravitate to particular sections of web pages. And if you dont have the necessary ads in these positions you will not get the clicks.

I talked to countless people that have great traffic, some with 300 to 1000 new visitors a day that say that they only make approx. at max $10 to $20 dollars a month on the adsense program. What a shame. But when I look at their websites the ads are either buried in wording that no one usually pays attention to or the ads are located in positions that just dont call any attention to their presence.

So were the best locations for you Google adsense ads. Well, I have found the number one best place for the ads are near or in proximity to your main menu. Why near your main menu. Because you know that visitors eyes will and always look for the menu structure of your website. So the common places for placement should be to the top right, the very top under your menu, or the top left. These are the most common locations for you main menu.

But what about the color scheme of the Google adsense ads? Yes, color is very important. You have to make the ads looks as seamless as possible. Here is an example on one of my website http://www.isaved-home-decor.com. Here I decided to position the ads at the very top right under my main menu. In direct eye contact. Also, remove the borders; just these two changes will increase your adsense proceeds one hundred percent.

By using these tactics I was able to increase my adsense click through rate significantly depending on traffic level and people's interest.

Build Adsense Sites - How to Create Dozens of Profitable Niche Sites

It is becoming increasingly popular to create websites that earn money exclusively from Google's adsense program. Anyone with basic html knowledge or a website creation tool can easily and quickly build adsense sites that will pull in hundreds of dollars a month. The aim of this article is to show you how to build adsense sites so you can take advantage of the internet's easiest money making opportunity.

1. Build adsense sites that are niche specific:

A niche is a small highly targeted topic that you will build your sites around. For example 'gardening' would be a broad topic but 'organic gardening' would be much more specific and a good niche topic. You would want to find more keywords related to 'organic gardening' and build your sites web-pages around them. Also make sure to use your niche when purchasing a domain name for your website.

2. Create hundreds of web-pages:

3. Build adsense sites using articles as your content:

Do not worry if you are not a good writer or you know little about the niche you are creating a website in. Using article directories as your content source you can save a lot of time and easily dish out hundreds of keyword rich web-pages for your site. It is important to never use duplicate content on your website because Google will think you are spamming them and could possibly ban your site.

4. Place your Google ads where they will be seen:

Since your primary source of income will be from adsense it is important that the visitor be able to see them right away. That being said it is a good rule of thumb to place your ads at the top and to the left of the page. In the adsense help section you can actually find a template that shows where the hot spots are on most web pages.
